Several kinds of raw materials, which were used to prepare SIS(styrene-isoprene-styrene)-based hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesive(HMPSA), were optimized by the means of cross design experiment. The primary materials and the best proportion of SIS-based HMPSA were found by studying different performance of peel strength and initial strength. The influence of the amount of PIB, naphthenic oil —4010 and stuffing on the characterization of SIS HMPSA was discussed. The relation between the performance of SIS-based HMPSA and different C5 hydyocarbon resins was studied. It was obvious that the type and amount of C5 hydyocarbon resins had great influence on the performance of SIS HMPSA. The C-100R type of C5 hydyocarbon resin is relatively better than others types. The thermal oxidative aging problem of SIS HMPSA was mainly discussed. The influence of oxidation resist system on SIS HMPSA was studied through changing the type, the amount and the aging time of antioxidant.. The result indicate that the effect of complex resist systems which contain two main antioxidant and one assistant antioxidant were better than the systems which were composed of one main antioxidant or one main antioxidant and one assistant antioxidant. The felted theory of SIS-based HMPSA was studied. It was found that the loosen of the substrate(fabric), the better of the adhesive effect by observed the structure of substrate(fabric) and investigated the capability of SIS-based HMPSA.
