With the development of PE industry, most companies pay more attention to the production of PE with higher performances. In order to get PE with high performances, we must demand PE with better mechanical properties and processability. The PE produced from BORSTAR process has more advantages than traditional products. In 2000, SINOPEC bought the equipment from BORSTAR, which was in great need of the matching catalyst. The imported catalyst has high price and we should be able to produce the matching catalyst with our own patent. In 2001, scientists in BRICI began to do some research about this kind of catalyst. And till now we have made great progress. In order to do the research of supercritical polymerization, we have built a set of evaluation equipment, and propane is used as solvent.One of the focuses is doing research about supercritical polymerization. So it will be convenient to provide data for industrial production.Phillips owns the best technique for producing HDPE. But the catalyst has poor copolymerization performance.
