The solar energy is abundant and infinite and is one of the best ways to solve the energy crisis. In recent years, Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells(DSPEC) have attracted attention because of large-area fabrication, potentially low cost and ease of designing materials based on the molecular level. However, it is the rough researches on improving the properties of the electrode, dyes, electrolytes, counter-electrode and photon-to-current conversion efficiency. As an important class of functional materials, perylene diimide derivative possess many advantages of stable structure, outstanding photoelectron, high thermal stability and exhibit wide absorption and emission bands in the visible, which they can be widely used in organic solar cell, organic solid state photovoltaic device, organic thin-film field-effect transistor and so on. So, in this essay, I synthesized two perylene diimide derivatives which are N, N'-di(glycyl)-3,4,9,10-perylenebis(dicarboximide)(PTDG) and N, N' -di(4-benzoic acid)-3,4,9,10-Perylenebis(dicarboximide) (PTDF). Using self-assembled way, fabricated them on ITO and nanocrystalline TiO2. By EA, DTA, UV-vis, IR, XRD, TEM, CV, studied all kinds of thin films' photoelectron properties, find that: (1) Using the above two perylene derivatives, dye sensitized nanocrystalline TiO2 electrodes(film P) are made, different structure has different properties, high conjugate is using in transfer electrons, but at the same, the recombination of photoinduced electrons and holes is also high, inhibiting the recombination of photoinduced electrons and holes is more important. (2) Self-assembled films of PTDF( PTDG) andmetal-ion-bridged films were fabricated on nanocrtstalline TiO2 electrodes (film PMP, M=Ce3+, Co2+, Cu2+, Ru3+). CV study reveals that those HOMO energy levels of PMP films are changed, in view of invariable valence of metal ions, electron injection should be attributed to ligand, but not to thecentral metal ions.
