With the development of computer and software, virtual instrument has become main direction of measurement fields. This paper has developed a mine hoist monitoring system based on LabVIEW , by applying advanced developing platform LabVIEW 7 Express , PCI-6024E multi-functional DAQ board of the virtual instrument , experimental facility and sensors . The hardware structure and the software design has been presented in detail and the system has realized the function and performance of dynamically graphical and simulated representation of parameters ,such as the real-time position of hoist , velocity , lifting direction , armature electric current , oil pressure and oil temperature ,etc. It also achieved the function of multimedia alarm in accident point, data storing ,printing ,consulting,and so on.It is an attempt applying in monitoring the mine hoist by LabVIEW, and has been proved that this system, which is very simple and convenience in operation , is available in experiment. Compared to the traditional hoist monitoring system, It has a strong advantage.
