The preparation conditions and the photocatalytic degradation behavior of gaseous formaldehyde of intermingled titanium dioxide are studied in this article.The acethlacetone spectrophotometry determination method of formaldehyde has been improved by two factors-three levels experiment and single factor experiment. Under the optimal experiment conditions, the detection limit of the method was decreased to 0.0056ug / ml. With this improved method, the formaldehyde can be determined rapidly and precisely.The sol—gel method of preparation titanium dioxide van body was studied and the best preparation conditions and ratio was developed. In addition, titanium dioxide activation experiment research was done by single factor means and the best activation conditions was optimized . The experimental results have showed that more than 30 % high concentration gaseous formaldehyde can be degraded in 3 hours by the titanium dioxide prepared under the optimal conditions. Secondly, titanium dioxide intermingled with Ce, Ag, Ce+Ag was prepared respectively and the optimal intermingling ratio was found out by single factor means. The intermingled titanium dioxide was characterized by XRD and SEM. From the view of molecular structure level, the influencing factors of photocatalytic activity was studied. More than 75% high concentration gaseous formaldehyde can be degraded in 3 hours by the intermingled titanium dioxide prepared under the optimal conditions.The author designed and made a successive reaction box for formaldehyde photocatalytic degradation, witch simulated the indoor environment and possessed the functions of UV illuminating, blowing, heating, increasing humidify, expediently changing of titanium dioxide etc.The photocatalytic degradation behavior of gaseous formaldehyde was studied and the influence factors of formaldehyde photocatalytic degradation : titanium dioxide quantity, UV illumination, oxygen pressure, humidity, temperature etc were studied in details ,which have established the bases of purifying indoor air with titanium dioxide.
