It is a new international materials science development trend to add whisker into resin, metal and ceramic matrix to prepare high-performance composite materials. However, the traditional carbon fabrics, silicon carbide fabrics, SiN fabrics high, severely limit civilian fabrics of composite materials, thus enabling the development of cheap fabrics in composite materials research become one of the hot issues. The magnesium borate whisker as a new material with similar mechanical properties of carbon fibre, while its price is the 1/20-1/30 polycrystalline silicon carbide, the development since the 1990's has been successful, because of its high performance anf low price in the tremendous applications in the civilian material prospects, so it becomes the focus of research in the area of materials.The magnesium borate whisker has three synthetic laws, however,the microwave law and the law because of their hot water or energy costly process harsh conditions such factors can not be industrialized, limited to laboratory research. So, with its low-cost of the high-temperature flux crafts, which has simple crafts, thus showing good industrial prospects. However, the law has a high-temperature reaction process accelerates HCl, difficult to deal with, and synthetic whisker from the quality is not good, a number of impurity compoud, long production cycle (50 hours), short length (only10μm), and many other shortcomings, the technology also limits its development.This study uses the basic principles of colloid chemistry through research chemical reaction from the nature proposed using glycol, sodium hydroxide, MgCl?6H2O, boric acid, flux to synthetic precursor, and with heat calcine synthetic processes, get the magnesium borate whisker that 70-160μm lengthand 0.5-2.0μm in diameter,, 99.14% purity. The process contributed significantly to the growth rate of boric acid magnesium fabrics and quality control of the complex in the generation and reducing response time and effectively resolved HC1 reaction process accelerates corrosion and environmental pollution problems caused by the equipment.The experiment first study the magnesium borate whisker synthetic formation...
