In this thesis, a series of novel glucosamine Schiff base, Pd(II) complex of salicylaldehyde SchifF base and glucosamine ferrocenylimine-palladacycle complex were synthesized. Catalytic performances of Pd(II) complex of salicylaldehyde Schiff base and glucosamine imine-palladacycle complex in the Heck reaction were studied. 1. Six novel Schiff bases were synthesized from glucosamine and phenyl aldehyde and itsderivatives. They were characterized by IR, ~1H NMR, UV, fluorescence and elementalanalysis.Scheme 1 Synthesis of la-If2. Pd(II) complex of Schiff base was synthesized, The crystal structure data indicated that the Pd(II) ion was coordinated through two oxygen and two nitrogen atoms fromScheme 2 The structure of molecular unit in the crystal strucruretwo free ligands, yielding two six-membered chelate rings. Its structure was also characterized by IR, ~1H NMR, thermo-gravimetric analysis and quantum chemistry...
