One of important goals in chemical research is to look forward some strategies and methods for the transformation of resource compounds into medicines, agricultural agents as well as some potential useful molecules. It is proud for chemists who can convert some waste into high value substance. 4(R)-methyl-tetrahydropyran-2-one has been as an industrial waste from the production of steroidal drugs. A new degradated method for steroidal sapogenin developed by professor Tian's group make 4(R)-methyl-tetrahydropyran-2-one obtain easily. How to utilize 4(R)-methyl-tetrahydropyran-2-one in organic synthesis becomes a high demand. The dissertation involves how to utilize 4(R)-methyl-tetrahydropyran-2-one to construct the side chain of vitamin E.The dissertation includes two parts:Pact Ⅰ: The review of asymmetry synthesis of vitamin E;Pact Ⅱ: The synthesis of the side chain of vitamin E based on the utilization of 4(R)-methyl-tetrahydropyran-2-one.
