In this paper, a new type of photo-catalyst Mo-doped TiO2 was synthesized by sol-gel method. The study showed the crystal was mainly formed as anatase phase and the particle size was about 19.3nm. Mo was doped into TiO2 mainly as Mo6+, at the same time the visible-light responding bound was extended by Mo6+ doping , in addition when the metal dopant content was 3.0% and the calcinations temperature was 400℃, the visible-light responding bound was about 450nm, the removement of methylene blue was about 56.6% under visible light.TiO2 catalyst supported on granular activated carbon was made using sol-gel method and sintering method, at the same time the porous and fine- dispersed Mo-TiO2/AC could be abtained using polyethylene glycol (PEG) as modification. The result showed the crystal formed very well and the particle size was about 4.4nm. The dopant content of TiO2 on actived carbon increased along with loading time, on the contrary the BET of MO-TiO2/AC decreased along with loading time. The study also showed the catalyst loaded firmly and the repeated usage function was good.Photocatalytic degration of 1-Naphthol-5-sulfonic acid in water was first studied using Mo-TiO2/AC as photo-catalyst.This paper studied the influence of pH, solution initial concentration and lamp-house to the treatment effects, at the same time the paper also studied the decompose process of l-Naphthol-5-sulfonic acid. These studies will provide a new treatment of l-Naphthol-5-sulfonic acid waste water for our country.
