Beneficial explorations and innovations in the mode of aeration, water inlet and operation of this new technology have been made. So research on the rule of start-up and running of the improved oxidation ditch is of great importance for its design and application in the future.The rules of active sludge culture and domestication in the start-up period in the improved oxidation ditch technology have been studied. Meanwhile, the abnormal phenomena of active sludge have been analyzed and the problems have been resolved. Furthermore, the main influential factors which deteriorate the removal of TP have been discussed and several pieces of advice have been given on this question.
