In this thesis, the molecular second-order nonlinear optical (NLO) properties of several kinds of benzo-heterocycle compounds and some disubstituted D-tt-A organic chromophores with long conjugated chain were studied. And the fluorescence properties of some benzo-heterocycle compound solutions were also investigated. The context was divided into 3 chapters as below.Chapter 1: Introduced briefly the nonlinear optics, the theory and the development of organic second-order NLO materials, as well as the basic principles and the research of fluorescence, the factors that can affect fluorescent properties of fluorescent materials were also discussed.Chapter 2: The microscopic second-order NLO properties of 2,4- (1H,3H ) Quinazolinediones and disubstituted D-tt-A organic chromophores were systematically studied. The relationship between substituents, substituted position, the extension of(?)conjugated system, planarity of molecules and molecular hyperpolarizabilities were obtained based on the theoretical calculations to design and synthesize excellent organic second-order NLO materials.Chapter 3: A group of pyrido[1,2-e]purin-4(3H)-one and benzimidazole derivatives were synthesized. The fluorescent spectroscopy tests of the solutions of these compounds were carried out and then were the analysis of their properties. Quantum Yields of the compounds were calculated. The effects of the molecular structures of the compounds, the substituents and the solvent on the fluorescent properties of these compounds were also discussed.
