Self-assembly as a new technique for the preparation of organic ultrafilms was applied in various fields by more and more investigators. Porphyrins and phthalocyanines were studied in the field of self-assembly for their special properties. Compared with other self-assembled monolayers(SAMs), Porphyrins and phthalocyanines SAMs present some particularly optical and photoelectric characteristics. Here in, we select the gold electrode as the substrate on which Porphyrin and phthalocyanine molecules were spontaneously organized to form ordered monolayers because it has strong ability to resist contamination. The assemblies of thiols-derivatized porphyrins and phthalocyanines compounds from solutions onto the gold surface to form densely packed monolayers have been studied most extensively. The main driving force for the self-assembling process is the formation of thiolate-gold bonds. If a general self-assembling technique is developed by means of which the porphyrins and phthalocyanines without sulfur atoms can directly absorb on the gold surface, forming ordered adlayers, most of the porphyrins and phthalocyanines monolayers can be self-assembled into organized films on the gold surface.Because the chemical interactions between porphyrins or phthalocyanines (not thiol-derivatives) monolayers and the gold surface atoms are much lower than the thiolate-gold bonds, It is therefore important to select an ideal solvent in which porphyrins and phthalocyanines molecules can spontaneously self-assemble on the gold surface, forming ordered, densely packed monolayer films.In this paper we developed a new method for preparing porphyrins and phthalocyanines adlayers ,also studied the electrochemical behavior of the porphyrins and phthalocyanines modified electrode.The main research contents and relevant results are summarized as follows:(1) Selecting An Ideal Solvent, Preparation And Characterization of H2TPP and Eu[Pc(OC8H17)8]2 Self-Assembled Monolayers on Gold Electrode.
