Characteristics Of Rural Life Pollution And Public Environmental Awareness Survey

At present, rural domestic pollution has been the main pollution to water environment. The Miyun reservoir, as an important potable water source, the water quality tends to be of eutrophication. Rural domestic pollution is the leading pollution sources to degrade the water quality. To study the characteristics of domestic pollution and the fanners' environmental consciousness of rural areas in reservoir water source areas and provide a basis for controlling water pollution and improving villages entironment.In this thesis, as an example of Miyun reservoir water source areas, rural domestic pollution source, characteristics, load, impacting factors, as well as the influence to the water body are surveyed by first-hand investigation, water quality monitoring, questionnaire survey and environment economics and sociology investigate research methods. On the base of questionnaire survey, the farmers' environmental consciousness, willing to pay(WTP) for environment protection are discussed by using SPSS system software.The research results indicate as follows:1) Household Wastewater discharge is 7.9 t/p.a., total nitrogen discharge is 40.0 t/a, total phosphorus discharge is 4.8t/a, chemical oxygen demand discharge is 386.2 t/a;2) Most of the rural household toilets are shallow and dry-cleanup, dejecta are fertilizer of the farmland in this region. TN discharge is 3545.4 t/a, TP discharge is 607.1 t/a, COD discharge is 2294.1 t/a from dejecta;3) Daily discharge of rural garbage is 0.29 kg/p.d , and gross discharge is 12264.1 t/a. Regarding to the farmers' environmental awareness and WTP for environment protection,there are some conclusions:1) In the environment protection awareness respect, farmers' attitude to environment protection rely on the government. Most of villagers can be aware that the both of government and individual are responsible for improving living environment. They are satisfied with overall living environment generally, but their desire of improving the sanitation condition and drinking water are greatly strong.
