It is a very important to measure the density of fabric in textile industry. Measure the fabric's density is beneficial to sign the parameters of the textile machine accurately. The use of computer for measure the density of fabric, including vertical and horizontal, makes the technician free of heavy and complex artificial measure, and make easier to carry out the density's measure, the accuracy of computer measure is same to artificial measure.The article is focus on measuring the density of fabric. It discusses the basis in theory of the method during the process of measure the fabric's density by computer, as for the images which were dealt with kinds of method of image processed, it compares with each other.Before measures the density of fabric image, it will be handled in advance by means of image processed, for example, changes the grey-level, noise canceling , etc. those would be chose by the fabric image's state in fact and can be executed repeated. Besides those, as for some distortion when complex fabric images were shot under any worse conditions, it might be improved through geometric transformation. The fabric images handled in advance will be transformed into frequency domain, which includes the cycle information of the fabric images. So long as the characteristic value can be found out, combine the size of fabric images that fixed earlier and resolution ratio of camera, we can calculate the vertical and horizontal density of the fabrics. In respects of finding out the characteristic value, the article discuss that the strengths and weakness of kinds of method deal with the same fabric image.
