In this paper, poly P (AMPS/NIPA) hydrogel that was synthesized through microwave low temperature plasma (MLTP for short) initiation polymerization was studied. The effects of different ionic strength and different electric charges of anionic or cationic strength on the swelling ability and recovery ability; the effects of ionic strength on pH sensitivity; the effects of ionic strength and different cationic strength on low critical solution temperature (LCST for short) about the duality were discussed. The transformation ratio, the swelling ability and the recovery ability about the hydrogel which were synthesized through MLTP and the chemical initiation polymerization were compared, and IR spectrum was used also.The results showed that the kinds and electric charges of the cation had splendid effect on the swelling ratio (SR for short) and the recovery ability of the hydrogel, and the anion had less effect; in the same ionic strength, the swelling ratio increases first and then decreases as. the pH increase, which was identical with the former studies; if the synthesized conditions changed, the rules did not change; in the different ionic strength, with the increasing of the ionic strength, the pH sensitivity of hydrogel decreased; in the same ionic strength (about the sodium chloride) under the experimental condition, the LCST of all the hydrogel were decreased. When the ionic strength increased from 0 to 0.5mol/kg, the changing scope was different as the proportion of AMPS was various; the LCST decreased sharply as the cationic electric charges increased, and to same extent, the hydrogel will lose its temperature-sensitivity; the poly (AMPS/NIPA) hydrogel has perfect temperature sensitivity under low ionic strength; increase the ionic strength and increase temperature had the same effect on the temperature sensitivity of the hydrogel; compared to the chemical initiation polymerization, the conversion of monomer of the MLTP were high ,the swelling ability was batter , the salt endurance was bad, and the recovery ratio was good; the IR spectrum proved that the AMPS and NIPA were copolymerized.
