Through copolymerization using epichlorohydrine bis (2-chloroethyl) ether and N,N, N', N'-tetamethylenediamine, methylamine, ethylamine, laurylamine as rawmaterials, a series of new kind of water-soluble quaternary ammonium polymer wassynthesized. The rate of conversion was high. And the product of repeatability was veryeasy. The liquid waste disposal of the product was very easy. So this quaternaryammonium salt has a very good industry application.The relationship between the dosage of raw materials, reaction temperature,reaction time and the rate of conversion were studied by single factor and perpendicularexperiment. The best condition of obtaining the maximal rat of conversion was found.Optimum condition of synthesize of quaternary ammonium polymer containingalkyl:With the raw material of methylamine: n (N): n (Cl)=1.2:1,temperature75℃,time 10h, drop velocity25d/min.With the raw material of ethylamine: n (N): n (Cl)=1.2:1,temperature70℃, time8h,drop velocity20d/min.With the raw material of laurylamine: n (N): n (Cl)=1.1:1,temperature75℃,time10h, drop velocity25d/min.Analytical method such as FT-IR, NMR was used to confirm the structures ofpolymer, and the results shows that the goal product was successfully obtained.The samples were investigated by TG to test the thermal stability. Weight losstemperatures of all polymers were above 200℃,is considerably heat-stable.The intrinsic viscosity of the product synthesized in different condition was testedby Ubbelihde viscometer.The quaternary polymers antibacterial activities were studied by plate countmethod.
