Biquanternary ammonium compound is a kind of novel cationic surfactants whichnamed Gemini. Gemini surfactants has opened a new approach of scientific research onsurfactants. The specific molecular structure determines excellent surface activity.Biquanternary ammonium compound has strong surface activity, great queous solubilityand unique rheological behavior. Therefore, they are used in lots of fields such as watertreatment, oil field exploitation and so on.In this paper, three series of bisquartery ammonium which were named Ga(symmetricbisquartery ammonium contained dodecyl), Gh(symmetric bisquartery ammoniumcontained imidazole) and Gd (dissymmetric bisquartery ammonium contained dodecyl andimidazole)respectively were systhesized. Meanwhile, the bactericide efficiency andinhibition efficiency were studied. Finally, I investigated the relation between the structureof bisquartery ammonium and inhibition efficiency through quantum chemistry. The mainwork are listed below.(1)Three series of bisquartery ammonium Ga,Gh and Gd were systhesized byN,N-Dimethyl dodecylamine, imidazole, 1,3-dichloro-2-propanol and 1-chloro-2,3-epoxypropane. The structures were identified by titration with sodium tetraphenylborate, IR,1HNMR and mass spectrum. In addition, the heat stability of Ga was analyzed by TG andDTA.(2)The optimal synthetic route of Ga was made by studying the reaction temperatur-e,the ratio of raw material and solvent and so on. Results show, the optimal route of Gawas n(N,N-Dimethyldodecylamine):n(1,3-Dichloro-2-propanol)=2.4:1.0, reaction time32h and the solvent 1-propanol.(3)The bactericide efficiency of Ga, Gh and Gd were studied. The results showed thatGa, Gh and Gd had greater superiority than "1227" on both bactericide efficiency andbactericide time. Results also show, the bactericide efficiency of dissymmetric bisquarteryammonium Ga was better than symmetric bisquartery ammonium Gh and Gd. The timeof bactericide was long.(4)The inhibition efficiency of Ga, Gh and Gd were studied. The results showed thatGa and Gd had great corrosion inhibition performance on carbon steel with theconcentration 10~200mg/L. Gh had bad corrosion inhibition performance. (5)The molecular structures of bisquartery ammonium Ga,Gh and Gd were optimizedby means of B3LYP/6-31G(d) method of Density Function Theory, and the quantumchemical parameters of these compounds were obtained. It is found that the corrosioninhibition efficiency has a great linear correlation with the quantum chemical parameterssuch as EHOMO,△E,μand bad linear correlation with ELUMO.
