In this paper, tri(tribromophenyl)cyanurate is synthesized from tribromophenol and cyanuric chloride. It is determined by the comparison method that sodium hydroxide and ethyl acetate are used as HC1 acceptor and the solvent. The effects of reaction temperature, solvent quantity, reaction time, molar ratio of tribromophenol and the cyanuric chloride, temperature of system when NaOH joined in were discussed with orthogonal experiment method,the suitable sythesis conditions are defined. The structure of the product was defined by FT-IR and 1HNMR,and the thermal stability was discussed by TGA.In this paper, tri(tribromophenyl)phosphate is synthesized from tribromophenol and phosphous trichloride, the effects of process parameters, such as the choice of solvent, solvent quantity,molar ratio, reaction tempereture , HCl acceptor, temperature of system when POCl3 joined in,circumf luence times were discussed respectively. The structure of the product was defined by FT-IR and 1HNMR,and the thermal stability was discussed by TG.A.Three intumescent retardants 2,4,6-tribromophenyl-bis(2.6.7-trioxa-l-phoshabi-cyclo[2,2,2]-octane-4-methanol) phosphate,O,O-di(2,4,6- tribromophenyl)phosph-oric melamine salt and 1,4-phenylene-(2,4,6- tribromophenyl) phosphamide ester with bromophenyl were synthesized.The structure of these products were defined by FT-IR and 'HNMR, and the thermal stability was discussed by TGA.The fluorescent property of tri(tribromophenyl)cyanurate was also discussed, and the result shows that this compound has higher fluorescent quantum yield in polar solvent.The implemental experiments were studied when tri(tribromophenyl)cyanurate are used in material such as ABS and PET, the result shows that tri(tribromophenyl)-cyanurate is a indeed excellent retardant.In this paper, the thermal decomposition kinetics behaviors of PET and flame retarded PET in nitrogen atmosphere by means of TG was studied. The relation between flame retarding property and thermal decomposition was studied. It shows that with the flame retardant tri(tribromophenyl)cyanurate added, the initial decomposition temperature of PET occurres in advance. The activation energy of flame retarded PET is below that of PET before 20% mass loss and the former surpass the latter after 30% mass loss.The flame retardant advance PET to decompose into carbon,insulate it from heat and oxygen,and hold back its further oxidation and decomposition.The addition of flame retardant shorten the corresponding times of different decomposition rates under the same temperature, that is the decrease of thermal stability,which is closely related with the ability flame retardant,it can decrease the initial decomposition temperature and advance PET to decompose into carbon.Tri(tribromophenyl)cyanurate was industrialized in Lianyungang marine chemical. Co. Ltd., and the patent was applied. tri(tribromophenyl)phosphate is now in industrializing.The study of the fluorescent property of tri(tribromophenyl)cyanurate and the thermal decomposition kinetics behaviors of PET and flame retarded PET in nitrogen atmosphere by means of TG is not found in the literatures by far.
