The porous material is a fast developed and new-fashioned material in the material science nowadays. Recently, more scholars both here and aboard research on aluminum and magnesium such low melting point non ferrous metal. There isn't any formal report of the research on the high melting point porous steel foam.This paper first made extractive chosen of the foam agent. Through the research into the MgCO3,BaCO3,SrCO3,Mn4N and Cr2N, it reveals that the foaming quality of Cr2N is the best. mainly research on the four parameters effect to the foam impression which are quantity of the foam agent, mesh count of the foam agent, the cast temperature of the steel liquid and effect of the porosity level on the carbon quantity and primary analyzed the foam forming in microcosmic mechanism on theory meanwhile.This paper combined the thermodynamics and heat layer analyzing test also the dynamics analyzing and the test of the Cr2N decomposing, found the finally confirmed the foam agent was Cr2N. This paper researched on the techniques parameters effect to the foam impression. The investigation showed that: (1) The rule of the influence of expansion foam's adding quantity for porosity level of the sample: when the mesh count were 80 to 140, as the quantity of the added foam agent increased the density of the sample low down and the porosity 1evel increased. (2) The rule of the influence of expansion foam's mesh count for porosity level of the sample: When the quantity of the added foam agent was 0.4%and 0.8%, the density of the sample assumed uptrend as mesh count of the foam agent increased and the porosity level assumed downtrend. (3) The rule of the influence of the carbon content for porosity level of the sample: When the quantity of the added foam agent was 1.2% and 1.6% and the mesh count of the foam agent were 80 and 140, the density of the sample low down as the carbon content of the steel liquid increased meanwhile the porosity level increased. When the added foam agent was 0.4% and 0.8% and the mesh count of the foam agent were 80 and 140, the density of the sample first increased then low down as the carbon content of the steel liquid increased meanwhile the the porosity level assumed uptrend first then downtrend.(4) The rule of the influence of casting temperature for porosity level of the sample: With the increase of the casting temperature, the sample's density decreases at first and increases at last, however, the density of the sample increases at first and decrease at last. The suitable casting temperature is 1400℃.
