Presently, the plasticizer of cigarette filter is triacetin mainly. The demands to glycerin that the raw material of synthesize triacetin are more than ever, comes to be satisfied with importing ,and rising in the glycerin's price, so increased the cigarette cost. In recent years, though about the triacetin's documents has new report ofen, since whose technology is very mature already, it would be very difficult to have the significant breakthrough in the field of the synthesis. Seek the new plasticizer which could be capable to replace triacetin is becoming the subjects that researcher pay close attention to.With the characteristic of triethyl citrate is extremely similar to triacetin, which may substitute the latter completely to serve as the cigarette plasticizer. This thesis is about the esterify synthesis of citric acid and alcohol also has carried on the further optimized, has chosen the more effective catalyst, has enhanced the product yield; has choosed the new schlep which can reject the substance that contain benzene adding to the production; through saw about the experiment of single factor and orthogonality, has obtained the suitable technology; has checked and measured the characteristics of TEC product, has prepared some test specimens and kept the record, has analyzed the plasticate mechanism. The thesis includes the following parts:1. Have inspected several reactive catalyzer, selected solid superacid catalysts, the yield was about 85.4%. Considering the follow-up separation, although the yield is lower than p-Toluenesulfonic Acid (the yield was 87%), has selected solid surperacid catalysts (SO42- /MxOy) act as the esterify catalyst ultimately.2. Usually, the schlep of esterify reaction was benzene,toluene etc, they may have being left over in the products ultimately. By improving the synthesize technics, use one of the raw material that alcohol act as schlep to avoid impurity substance adding to the production, satisfying the innocuous request really.3. Triethyl citrate synthesize experimentation: the content are mainly about the technological parameter that the estimation of reaction destination, the mensuration of reaction temperature, the amount of catalyzer, the ratio of raw material, the reaction time etc. It could be think about that the first step reaction are accomplished when the mixture density of schlep was up to d≈0.814, that the second step reaction are accomplished when the mixture density of schlep was up to d≈0.8000. The proper react condition: the reactive temperature is about 95°C, the amout of catalyzer are equal to the Triethyl citrate which added to the reactor 5%, the rate of citric acid to alcohol = 1:3 , the first step react time was 4h, the second step react time was 1h, the rates of esterification was amount to 86.15%, the amout of ester was 99.41%. Considering the reaction is continually, returned the ethanol which rinse the previous reacted catalyzer to the next reaction may increase the rate of yield, the yield was up to 91.66%.4. Saw about the catalyze effective for the repetitive use of catalyst, the activity of catalyst is best when it put into use the second time, but the catalyst activity comes down obviously when it put into use the third time. Had carried out the enlarge experiment, found the rate of production approximate to 88%, the maximal was up to 88.10%.5. Have checked and measured the characteristics of production, satisfied the requirement of cigarette using as plasticizer. Have analysised the basis of reduce tar and toxin with new plasticizer qualitatively.
