This article briefly introduced the N-ethylpiperazine physical and chemical properties, production and related uses. In an extensive literature on the basis of this study, we choose low pressure gas-solid catalytic synthesis of N-ethylpiperazine process route with raw materials of ethanol and piperazine. We inspect the influence of the reaction by modified ions and preparation methods through single factor experiments, optimize the catalyst preparation craft. Finally,we put the optimal catalyst to the gas-solid phase synthesis and do single-factor and orthogonal experiment of conditions for the synthesis, then optimized the conditions of the process. The following have been obtained through lots of experiments.1. This experimental study indicated, the way of gas-solid catalytic synthesis of N-ethylpiperazine using the industrial ethanol (Ethyl alcohol content 95) and piperazine as raw material under low pressure condition is applicable,2. Piperazine and 95 ethanol as raw materials, the conversion rate and selectivity of synthesis of N-ethyl-piperazine are higher. Theγ-Al2O3 catalyst Preparation by ion exchange reaction as catalyst in alkanolamine reaction has better activity and selectivity.Catalyst preparation conditions : Activated alumina with particle size 3 mm; infused for 48 hours at 25℃in 1.0mol/L Cu(NO3)2 Solution; dried for 3 hours at 110℃; baked for 6 hours at 500℃; reduction for 3 hours at 300℃under hydrogen pressure of 0.6 Mpa in reactor.3. Synthesis Laboratory to determine the optimum craft conditions: the concentrationof PA 30%(Quality score); reaction temperature 280℃; Airspeed: 0.0048mol·g-1·hr-1.In these conditions, the conversition of PA is 74.94%, the selectivity of EPA is 43.75%, the selectivity of TEDA is 34.82%.
