Currently, the construction of the coordination polymers has becomeone of the particularly important and topical subjects in the fields ofcoordination chemistry, supramolecular chemistry, material and biologicalscience et al. The current topical research focus on the rigid aromaticmulticarboxylate ligands, such as benzene dicarboxylic acid and benzenetricarboxylic acid et al. In this thesis, three organic bridging carboxylateligands, carboxylphenoxyi carboxylic acids, were designed and synthesized, and were used to construct eighteen coordination complexes with a greatvariety of topological structures, including mononuclear, binuclearmacrocyclic, 1-D chain, as well as 2-D layer structure, which werecharacterized by elemental analysis, IR and X-ray single crystal diffraction. In these complexes, the ligands, which are excellent bridging characteristicwith both rigid and flexible parts, show multiple coordination modesthrough carboxylate O atoms. In addition, the effects of pH value, solvents.metal salts and nitrogen heterocycle molecules on the synthesis andtopological structures of the coordination complexes have also been studied.
