Intercalation chemistry as a frontier branch of science also develops rapidly. It relates to inorganic, organic, analytical, physical chemistry, as well as solid state chemistry, physics and material science. People have tried to introduce different guests, such as proton, metal ion, organic molecule, metal coordination compound, polymer and protein into layered and pillared materials for adjusting their interlayer structures and functions. Then we can get some new materials with optic, electric, magnetic or catalytic properties, which have wide application prospect. In the first of the paper, a layered compound, Na0.7CoO2 was prepared by solid state reaction at high temperature. Then Na0.7CoO2 was treated with hydrochloric acid and the resultant, a protonated form of Na0.7CoO2 was further intercalated by n-propylamine by means of acid-base reactions. The final resultant compound Na0.7CoO2 was characterized by XRD, IR and TG-DTA. The inspection results show that 3-alkylamines was successfully intercalated into the protonated form of Na0.7CoO2 and form the organic-inorganic intercalation compounds. In the second part of the paper, a layered perovskite tantalate SrBi2Ta2O9 was prepared. Then SrBi2Ta2O9 was treated with hydrochloric acid and the product, a protonated form of SrBi2Ta2O9 was further reacted with several organic compounds. 3-alkylamines, 8-alkylamines, 12-alkylamines, 18-alkylamines and porphyrin was respectively intercalated into the protonated form of the layered perovskite SrBi2Ta2O9. The form of 3-alkylamines intercalation compound is based on an acid-base mechanism and the form of the other four intercalation compounds is based on an ion-exchange mechanism. The resultant products were characterized by XRD, IR and both solid and liquid ultraviolet absorption spectroscopy analysis. The inspection results show that both n- alkylamines and porphyrin were successfully intercalated into the protonated form of SrBi2Ta2O9 and as a result, form a series of organic-inorganic intercalation compounds.
