The thesis involves six parts. In the first part, NaClO solution is prepared by leading Cl2 to NaOH aqueous solution, and is inspected in the epoxidation reaction of phenanthrene.The optimalization of epoxidation reaction system is made. Almost all the phenanthrene can be conversed, and the selectivity of epoxides is 95%. NaOH and Cl2 are added to filtrate, as the byproduct being separated, and the NaClO solution can be recycling utilized.In the second part, the isomerization of epoxides and the oxidative coupling reaction of 9- phenantrhrol is completed in one step, as the acidic and oxidative of FeCl3 solution. The optimalization of reaction system is made, and almost all the epoxides can be conversed, and the selectivity of biphenanthrol is almost 100%. The circulate that Fe2+ in the filtrate was oxidatived by H2O2 has been developed. It is a synthetic method with the advantages of simple operation, low consumption, process simplification and without nitrogen protection.In the third part, 10,10'-dimethoxy-9,9'-biphenanthryl is prepared with (CH3)2SO4 and biphenanthrol by using acetone as solvent and NaOH as alkali.The optimalization of reaction system is made, and almost all the biphenanthrol can be conversed, and the selectivity of 10,10'-dimethoxy-9,9'-biphenanthryl is almost 100%. The product is washed by acetone and the purity of it can reach 97.6%. Acetone is distilled and the recovery is more and 94%, and the circulate of acetone is developed.In the fourth part, the preparation of NaClO solution, the heterogeneous epoxidation reaction of phenanthrene with NaClO solution, the isomerization and the oxidative coupling reaction in FeCl3 solution with acetone, and the etherification of biphenanthrol compose a new synthesis technology of 10,10'-dimethoxy-9,9'- biphenanthryl. All the reaction are expanded with stable result, which provided industry data was gathered under the condition.In the fifth part, three derivatives of biphenanthrol are synthesized: 10,10'-diethyl -9,9'-biphenanthryl, 10,10'-dipropyl -9,9'-biphenanthryl, 10,10'-dipropyl -9,9'- biphenanthryl. And they are all new compound.In the sixth part, the effect of solvent to etherification method of phenol is studied, taking 2- naphthols as an example. Some kinds of nonprotic polar solvent such as acetone, DMF, DMSO, HMPA and ethyl acetate is used in the reaction. Then the reaction of (CH3)2SO4 with phenol, substituted phenols, naphthol or phenantrhrol is studied, taking acetone as solvent. A new method of etherification is developed, which is composed of nonprotic polar solvent—NaOH--(CH3)2SO4—phenol. The etherification can completed within 10min in room temperature, and almost all of phenol can transform to the only product.
