The power consumption is an important economic target of electrolytic zinc process in which zinc is deposited in the zinc sulfate solution under the function of direct current. The technic parameters are adjusted empirically by operators to keep producing stable, disregarding the relationship between the power consumption and technic parameters. Therefore, the power consumption is enormous at present.Considering energy saving in electrolysis zinc process, the power consumption optimization model of electrolytic zinc process is established based on the mathematic model of electrolytic zinc process and provided that power charge is counted in time-sharing way. This model takes current density, the concentration of sulfate acid and zinc sulfate as variables, output and the technic parameters range as restrictions, and aims to minimize the power consumption and the power charge.In order to overcome the premature convergence problem of PSO, a new modified PSO(AVCPSO) is presented in this thesis. In the process of population evolution, AVCPSO can accelerate the velocity of the population adaptively. Thus this algorithm has the continuity search ability. As a result the probability of the population tripping out from local extreme is improved and the premature convergence problem is solved effectively. AVCPSO is applied to the power consumption optimization model and optimal power consumption scheme is obtained.Finally, the monitoring and optimal control system of electrolytic zinc process is developed to check process status on-line. With the optimized technic parameters, the current intensity, the concentration of sulfate acid and zinc sulfate, and the temperature are real-timely controlled in this system.
