With the rapid growth of economy, the shortage of energy source is one of the most important factors which have restrained the country's economic development. Waste oil treatment has been an inevitable way of energy saving. However, old ways of waste oil treatment have some shortage more or less, which can not measure up to the electric equipment oil standard economically and effectively. In recent years, structured packing, especially, metal corrugated packing is used widely. The main reason is three points. Firstly, rigorous development of chemical industry, petrochemical industry and industry of fine chemical require the high efficiency, low resistance, low liquid holdup and large flux tower device. Secondly, energy saving and environmental protection need the high efficiency and low resistance tower device. Thirdly, large tower device carry through technological transformation. The kind of material is suit to vacuum and medium voltage distillation. It is indicated that, on the vacuum condition, metal corrugated packing is used to improve the dewatering of waste oil. On the basis of researching on structure of metal corrugated packing, liquid distribution and flowing on the surface of packing, application of metal corrugated packing in industries, the kind of structured packing is applied to vacuum oil purifer firstly. It is consolidated statement that the packing is applied combined numerical simulation with experiment. The main tasks of this paper are as follows:1. In three aspects of efficiency of oil-water separation, pressure drop in the vacuum separation room and the price of oil-water separation material, it is researched on the feasibility of the application of metal corrugated packing in the vacuum oil purifer.2. The vaporization processing of water in oil on the surface of packing is simulated through numerical simulation, which can supply scientific foundation for the altitude of filler layer.3. Orthogonal experiment design is applied to measure the efficiency of evaporation in different oil-water separation material and different operating condition. Compared 250Y metal corrugated packing with 350Y metal corrugated packing,single factor experiment is applied to measure the water oil of evaporation efficiency.4. It is researched on the experiment of filler layer and interval of filling, optimize the filling implantation in the vacuum separation room, and improve the efficiency of vacuum dewatering.Through the research on the metal corrugated packing in the vacuum oil purifier, it is clear that as a kind of high specific surface area and high vent ability structrured packing, it is high effective to wipe off water in oil. So, it is absolutely viable to use this kind of corrugated packing.
