It has more than 100 years since phenolic resin was discovered,synthesized and widely applicated.Compared with other synthetic resin,phenolic resin has better heat tolerance and a higher residual carbon ablation rate.But with the rapid development of modern science and technology,a number of areas for the heat tolerance and other properties of resin have higher demand,the traditional sense of phenolic resin can not meet the requirements for utilization of various materials.Therefore,the composite modification of the phenolic resin is one of the main development directions of development of high-performance phenolic composite materials.In this paper,utilizing Guizhou Palygorskite minerals prepared the nano-materials,and adopting in-situ polymerization of the nano-Palygorskite to modify phenolic resin composite materials.Study the structures and thermal stability of phenolic resin nano-composite materials,and the friction and wear properties of it as basis material for the brakes of the friction.The results showed that:the chemical conversion treatment's nanoparticles can be relatively evenly distributed in the modified phenolic resin basis material;the modified resins has excellent thermal stability,and a higher high-temperature carbon residue rate;by modified the phenol Formaldehyde resin made-up the friction materials can significantly improve friction and wear property,the coefficient of the Brake Lining is stability,and wear rate is small in the high temperature,these can effectively avoid the heat recession of friction and wear property,expand the scope of high-temperature braking.As a high-performance friction material,it has extensively prospect and useful value.By orthogonal design optimizes purification processes of the palygorskite can obtain the purity of palygorskite is from 50.23 percent to 88.03 percent on condition that the pulp density is 10 percent,centrifugal speed is 2500 r/min and the time is 5 min in this paper.By the analysis and comparison of the four milling methods found that the effect of the wet milling is the best,namely,adding 1/2 volume Palygorskite powder and 10~12 ml industrial alcohol into the agate jar.under the 150 r/min and change the rotation direction every 10 min conditions ball milling 60 h.By using this method can prepared better -effect Palygorskite nano materials.By adding silane coupling agent modify the palygorskite nano materials so that palygorskite nano materials in phenolic resin is more evenly distributed.
