The problem of energy is a more acute problem in our country ever since a long time. The exploitation of heavy oil and super heavy oil in the homeland, as well as the continuous import of heavy oil cause the heavy oil processing will increase steadily. Therefore, making use of precious petroleum of usage and saving rationally, developing residual oil depth treating energetically, developing rational heavy oil process handicraft and equipments, improving the rate of the light-end products, gaining more chemical products already become one important technology policy in our country oil refining industry.In consideration of heavy oil pyrolysis technology the and characteristics of spouted fluidization technology, this paper brought forward one kind of new process of heavy oil pyrolysis technology which is the process of heavy oil pyrolysis pelleting producing globular coke. In this process, the core reactor is spouted bed, and lift pipe is the segregation apparatus. The main task of this paper is the design of main reactor and cold model experiment. Those works can provide the certain basis to hot model in the hereafter. Thereby, it can offer theoretical principle and basis for the process of heavy oil pyrolysis pelleting producingglobular coke.The structure dimension of the lift pipe fluidized bed and spouted bed was ascertained by the design and calculation. The minimum spouting velocity ums, the maximum spouting pressure△Pm , the spouting pressure△PS, the spouting height hs, the particle demixing phenomenon and the flow regime transition were determined to investigate the law of the flow characteristics transformation in spouted beds. This paper proposed a new study, segregation in lift pipe gas-solid fluidized beds with ternary mixtures where the particle differ in size only, under high gas velocity. And, experiments proved its feasibility. In addition, a new experiment system was set up.Through preliminary experiments research, factors of particle segregation were observed to definitude the effect of segregation. They are the distributing plate, the superficial velocity, the composition of feed and the rate of feed.
