In recent years, low-dimensional materials have attracted much attention for their distinctive properties and potential application. Especially, magnetic nanowires and nanotubes with high shape anisotropy have attracted extensive interests.For their potential application as high density perpendicular magnetic recording medium, the magnetization reversal mechanism of magnetic nanowires has been always the focus of researches. As is shown in this paper, the magnetization reversal process of single Co nanowires and double-nanowires with different diameters, different damping constantsα, and different directions of the magnetocrystalline anisotropy axis was investigated using micromagnetic simulation software Magpar. The results show that the structure of domain wall and its moving rules were affected by the diameters, damping constantsα, direction of the magnetocrystalline anisotropy axis of the nanowire.Template method is an important way to obtain nanowire arrays. As is shown in this paper, using porous alumina membrane as the template, NiP nanowire arrays were fabricated by electroless deposition, Ni nanowire arrays and Co nanowire arrays were fabricated by electrochemical deposition. The sample morphology, crystalline structure and static magnetic properties are investigated by SEM, XRD and VSM. The results indicate that NiP nanowire arrays, Ni nanowire arrays and Co nanowire arrays have sharp perpendicular magnetic anisotropy, which depends on the shape anisotropy.
