The construction of novel transition metal coordination compounds has become a subject that attracts intense attention in the field of supramolecular chemistry and crystal engineering because of their diversity structures and promising applications in the field of catalysis,bioactivity and material etc. A series of transition metal complexes based on 2,2'-biimidazole(H2biim) and 2-mercaptobenzothiazole(2-Hmbt) have been synthesized and characterized by IR, elemental analysis, luminescence, 1H NMR and by the X- ray diffraction.The main work is as follows:1. Ten new complexes based on 2,2'-biimidazole(H2biim) and carboxylate coligands have been prepared with many transition metal salts: [Cu(H2biim)2(H2O)](NO3)2 (1), [Cu(H2biim)2](ClO4)2·2DMSO (2), [Cu(H2biim)2][(I)0.36·(NO3)0.64]2 (3), {[Cu(H2biim)2(H2O)](SiF6)}·H2O (4), [Cu(H2biim)(C3H4O4)(H2O)]1.5H2O(5), [Cu(H2biim)(gly)(H2O)]Cl·H2O (6), [Fe2(μ-O)(H2biim)4(H2O)2](NO3)4·C2H5OH (7), [Fe(H2biim)3]SO4 (8), [(H3biim+)(NO3-)] (9) and [(H4biim2+)(phthgly-)2] (10).2. Five Zn(II) and Cd(II) complexes based on 2-mercaptobenzothiazole(2-Hmbt) and other ligands containing N atoms have been synthesized: Zn(2-mbt)2(2,2'-bipy) (11), Zn(2-mbt)2(phen) (12) , [Cd2(2-mbt)4]n (13), [Cd(2-mbt)2]n (14) and [Zn(2,2'-bipy)3]2Cl4·H2O (15).3. A binuclear Cu(I) complex [Cu2(dppm)(C9H7N)(i-C9H7N)I2] (16) has been synthesized by quinoline, dppm(bis(diphenylphosphino)methane) and CuI.
