Complexes Of Transition Metals With 2,2 '- Such As Linked Imidazole Nitrogen Ligands Synthesis, Structure And Nature Of The Study

The construction of novel transition metal coordination compounds has become a subject that attracts intense attention in the field of supramolecular chemistry and crystal engineering because of their diversity structures and promising applications in the field of catalysis,bioactivity and material etc. A series of transition metal complexes based on 2,2'-biimidazole(H₂biim) and 2-mercaptobenzothiazole(2-Hmbt) have been synthesized and characterized by IR, elemental analysis, luminescence, 1H NMR and by the X- ray diffraction.The main work is as follows:1. Ten new complexes based on 2,2'-biimidazole(H₂biim) and carboxylate coligands have been prepared with many transition metal salts: [Cu(H₂biim)₂(H₂O)](NO₃)₂ (1), [Cu(H₂biim)₂](ClO₄)₂·2DMSO (2), [Cu(H₂biim)₂][(I)0.₃6·(NO₃)0.64]₂ (₃), {[Cu(H₂biim)2(H₂O)](SiF6)}·H₂O (4), [Cu(H₂biim)(C₃H4O4)(H₂O)]1.5H₂O(5), [Cu(H₂biim)(gly)(H₂O)]Cl·H₂O (6), [Fe₂(μ-O)(H₂biim)4(H₂O)2](NO₃)₄·C₂H₅OH (7), [Fe(H₂biim)₃]SO₄ (8), [(H₃biim+)(NO₃-)] (9) and [(H4biim2+)(phthgly-)2] (10).2. Five Zn(II) and Cd(II) complexes based on 2-mercaptobenzothiazole(2-Hmbt) and other ligands containing N atoms have been synthesized: Zn(2-mbt)2(2,2'-bipy) (11), Zn(2-mbt)2(phen) (12) , [Cd2(2-mbt)4]n (1₃), [Cd(2-mbt)2]n (14) and [Zn(2,2'-bipy)₃]2Cl₄·H₂O (15).₃. A binuclear Cu(I) complex [Cu₂(dppm)(C₉H₇N)(i-C₉H₇N)I₂] (16) has been synthesized by quinoline, dppm(bis(diphenylphosphino)methane) and CuI.
