Dye wastewater possess great proportion in the industrial wastewater. It is difficulty to be treated because of its complicated component, high concentration and difficulty capability of degradation. In this experiment MBR and activated carbon (AC) were combined . It focused on the rules of dye wastwater treatment and the effect of the activated carbon in easing membrane fouling. It hoped that the experiment could supply referrence on porpularizing the using of MBR in dye wastwater treatment and prolonging the operating life of membrane.The result of experiment indicated that, the effluent of CMBR and ordinary MBR took on good removal effect about COD. The average of removal ratio about COD of the MBR and CMBR were respectively 90.2%and 95.9%. The removal ratio about colourity of Brill red 3BS and Black B in CMBR system was much higher than which in ordinary MBR system. In MBR the average of effluent colourity was 450 multiple and the average of removal ratio was 40.3%. In CMBR system the average of effluent colourity was 150 multiple and the average of removal ratio was 85%. In addition, hollow-fiber membrane had a certain extent effect in colourity removal. Its average of removal ratio was 6.9%, so biological treatment was the most important in colourity removal. The removal ratio about colourity of Black B in CMBR was 89%. The effluent of both the two system took on good removal effect about turbidity and SS. The average of turbidity of the whole experiment was 0.34NTU. Both the effluent of MBR and CMBR were clear and sans taste . The removal ratio of hollow-fiber membrane about SS was 100%.According to the degree of fouling, four steps of membrane cleaning were adopted in the experiment: by water-by NaOH-by HCl-by NaClO. Based on the analysis of the membrane flouling process and membrane flux recovery after membrane cleaning, the experiment got the following conclusions: 1) membrane flux attenuation in CMBR was much slower than which in MBR and membrane cleaning cycle was lengthened by 10 days in CMBR;2) the flouled membrance was easier to chean in CMBR,and membrane flux recovery was enhanced by 21% contrasted with MBR system after cheaning by water. After the whole cleaning steps membrane flux recovery rate in MBR and CMBR respectively reached 87% and 97%. Membrane flux recovery in CMBR was enhanced by 10%.According to the result of espial, the status of microorganism was found out. In the cultivation period, the main types of microorganism appeared in activated sludge were amoeba,flagellate and so on. When the zoogloea was well cultivated, the main species were vorticella and so on. And the appearance of rotifera indicated that the system was run well, and the quality of effluence was steadily and well.
