The research status and the development trend of the sulfide ore collector were summarized in this paper. The character, the synthesizing and the application in the research of new sulfide ores flotation collecetor of the isothiocyanate and its derivatives were also introduced.Three methods of determining the conversation of the reaction were introduced and studied, which included the titration, the determination of ethoxycarbonyl thiourea by ultraviolet spectrophotometer and the determination of unreacted sodium thiocyanate in B oil by spectrophotometer. The analysis steps and theories of the three methods were given. Comparing with the three methods, the titration could improve the conversation of the reaction, and the determination of ethoxycarbonyl thiourea by ultraviolet spectrophotometer could accurately detect the conversation of the reaction. So the determination of ethoxycarbonyl thiourea by ultraviolet spectrophotometer was selected to determining the conversation of the reaction finally.By analyzing the mechanism of the Phase transfer reaction synthesizing N-alkoxycarbonyl isothiocyanate and the molecular structure design of the sulfide ores collector, QL-1, QL-2, BA-1, SA-1 were chosen as the phase transfer catalysts, and catalysts SA-1, QL-2 had collection ability. The four kinds of catalysts' performance was inspected in water, methylisobutylketone and B oil. The results indicated that: in water phase, QL-1 and BA-1 had good catalytic performance, the conversation can reach more than 90%, QL-2 and SA-1 had no catalytic capability; when the solvent was changed to methylisobutylketone, catalyst BA-1 had the best catalytic capability, the dosage of catalyst BA-1 was 3%, the conversation achieved 84.1%. The catalytic ability of QL-1 was less than BA-1, better than SA-1, and QL-2 was the worst one. Using B oil as solvent, the catalytic capacity of the four catalysts lowered obviously, the catalysts BA-1 and QL-1 had same catalytic activity, compared with QL-2, SA-1 had higher catalytic performance. Choosing SA-1 as catalyst, B oil as solvent, the influence of the quantity of the catalyst, the react temperature, the react time, the mole ratio of agents on the synthetic technology were investigated, the optimum synthesis conditions were obtained.Using BA-1 and SA-1 as catalysts, following the optimum synthesis conditions, the N-alkoxycarbonyl isothiocyanate was produced, and then reacted with the Propylamine, the productions MS-001 and MS-100 were thiourea collector. Adding SA-1 into the collector MS-001, the other collecter MS-200 was got, the quantity of SA-1 in MS-200 was equal to the collecter MS-100. The small flotation test results showed that the flotation effect of the new collector on the porphyry copper of the De Xing copper mine was much better than the Butyl xanthate which is using now, the recovery of copper and molybdenum became higher. Compared with MS-001, the two collectors had the same flotation effects. The contrast experiment among collectors indicated that in the MS collectors, the MS-115 had the best flotation performance, the copper and molybdenum got the highest recovery and the sulfur could obtain the best selectivity; the addition of SA-1, to some extent, could improve the collecting ability of collector on the copper flotation, but to molybdenum, there was little influence, and the addition of SA-1 lowered the selectivity of sulfur.
