White-Mud which is commonly referred to as the main solid waste from ammonia-soda process,is the caustic sludge originated from the filter pressing of limestill waste liquor of.China is the first soda producer in the world,the output in 2007 is 1720×104t,among which 871×104t are produced through ammonia-soda process.The White-Mud coefficient of ammonia-soda process is 0.30~0.35t/t soda. Take Qingdao Soda Industry Ltd for example,the output is 50×104t/a,the quantity of White-Mud is about 18×104t/a.Large quantity of White-Mud are pile-up without pollution control measures,land resources were wasted and the tideland were polluted.White-Mud is a kind of alkaline solid wastes,the pH is between 10 and 12,and has been used as de-sulfurizer in stack gas de-sulfurization in the stage of industrialization.Operational results of stack gas de-sulfurization on two coal-fired boiler of 130t/h and one 220t/h show that the remove rate of sulfur dioxide is>97%.Because of the acidity of sulfur dioxide gas,after de-sulfurization,White-Mud in solid state transformed into liquid state,and all the pollutants in White-Mud and most of the pollutants in stack gas enter the waste sea-water,which then drain into sea.The impacts on sea environment of wastewater from sea-water de-sulfurization(SWDS) have been studied and monitored. The studied conclusion is that effects are little.Comparison to the wastewater from SWDS,the pollutants in White-Mud all dissolves in that from White-Mud de-sulfurization(WMDS).Can the drainage of wastewater from WMDS threat environmental risk on sea eco-system is not clearly understood,therefore,this study is of all-important.The text first forecasts the consistency of suspended load and sulfate radical when the white mud desulfurated seawater is discharged into the sea,and appreciations that if the consistency of sea water would be overproof,and if the sea water would be polluted.According to the forecasting result,when the white mud desulfurated seawater is discharge into the sea the consistency of sea water will not exceed GradeⅢandⅣof requirements of Seawater Discharge Standard.The envelope line area of exceeding GradeⅡis 6.11km2.When SO42- was discharged into the sea,the consistency less than 200mg/L in most parts.The envelope line area which the consistency of SO42- is less than 200mg/L is 8.3 km2.The envelope line area which the consistency of SO42- is less than 100mg/L is 44.1 km2. In the experiment of SO42- reacting on the alga,the amount of growth are the largest except for Chrysophyta,when the SO42- consistency augments it will exert a depressant action on alga.But the action is small,it will not exert a toxic actionIn the experiment of mixed seawater reacting on the alga,the action is different frome all kind of alga.It exerts a depressant action on Gymnodrium,but exerts a promoter action on Chrysophyta Phaeodactylum and Skeletoneama.But the component of the white mud desulfurated seawater is complex,growth feature of the alga is indeterminacy.
