China is abundant of coal resources, and has good industrial basis, particularly suits to develop coal chemical industry. However, it has pollution problems in coal chemical industry prevalently. In particular, a large number of pollutants discharged into natural water bodies, which caused several severe consequences such as the drop of water source's quality, eutrophication of water bodies and serious environmental pollution, thus it's increasingly urgent to treat the nitrogen-containing wastewater. This topic took methanol production wastewater of Puyang Longyu chemical company as study object, to remove oil,COD and ammonia respectively from wastewater by oil-water separator, and A/O process. Oily waste water which generated by air separation and other equipments was treated through oil-water separation equipment, this topic researched several important factors of the oil-water separator efficiency. Through the test, the best operating parameters were selected for the equipment, the equipment worked well, and the effluent was stable. Other wastewater of the enterprise was treated by A/O process. In followed biological treatment process, the start-up characteristic, the best environmental condition and the important factors of A/O were studied.Through the research, the conclusion could be drawn that: Oil-water separator used air flotation, sand filtration and activated carbon adsorption processes successively to treat the oily wastewater. Under the condition of 250mg/L PAC dosage, sand filter tank backwashing 6min, activated carbon adsorption tank backwashing 7min, oil removal rate stabilized at around 95%. With the removal of oil, COD was removed, the effluent reached the standards. The equipment operating cost was about 1.5 RMB/t. During the start of A/O process, with the increased influent, aerobic nitrification bacteria steady growth in O pool. And COD and NH3-N removal capacity gradually enhanced. After the 25 day's consecutive domestication, nitrobacteria system was fundamentally established and mature in O pool,. Denitrifying bacteria did not have to separate domestication. It was useless to domesticate denitrifying bacteria separately, as long as the nitrification - denitrification system continuously domesticated, the domestication of denitrifying bacteria was a natural process. (3) Through the adjustment of test run of A/O process, in the conditions of A pool pH value of 6.5~8.5, DO 0.3~0.6mg/L, O pool pH value of 7.0~7.5, DO 2~4mg/L, the sludge reflux ratio and mixture reflux ratio were 100%, 200%, the average COD removal rate was 89.2%., the average NH3-N removal rate was 91.2%. After a reasonable adjustment, denitrifying bacteria could effectively degrade cyanide more than 90% during denitrification in a pool.
