Arsenic is so pro-sulphur that It's often associated with sulfide minerals. Raw materials are strict with arsenic content because arsenic is the impurity elementa of non-ferrous metal smelting. Therefore, to lower arsenic is quite necessary by every concentrator. However, It is a more typical and more difficult subject that flotation separation arsenic with sulfur among complex refractory sulfide ore.Generally speaking, an effective method of separation between arsenopyrite and pyrite can also be applied to sort arsenopyrite with other sulfide minerals. So the research on flotation separation of arsenopyrite and pyrite has great theoretical and practical significance.The thesis used arsenic-containing pyrite which from two kinds of acidic and alkaline gangue for sample, the experiment got a good test index by adopting the inhibitor of y-As to restrain arsenic floating sulfur, Guangxi sample test obtained the following results: mixed sulfur concentrate sulfur grade of 44.54%, 0.82% arsenic, the total sulfur recovery rate of 82.82%; concentrate arsenic grade of 16.78%, recovery rate of 84.85% arsenic. Anhui sample test obtained the following results:mixed sulfur concentrate sulfur grade of 45.22%, 0.27% arsenic, sulfur recovery rate of 81.72%; concentrate arsenic grade of 15.55%, recovery rate of 81.40% arsenic, and gold-bearing12.0g/t in the analysis of arsenic concentrates in gold assaying, recovery rate of 65.10%. It showed that to achieve the separation of pyrite and arsenopyrite, can not only get high-quality sulfur concentrate, but also comprehensively recycle valuable elements and gold which is contained in arsenopyrite.Mechanism analysis of pure mineral shows that no metal xanthate or paris xanthate being found is the key to restrain the arsenicpyrite by adding inhibitor y-As. In the pyrite and butyl xanthate flotation pulp system,There is the characteristic absorption peak of pairs xanthate in the surface of pyrite after adding the inhibitor to,and pyrite remains good floatability. However, in the arsenicpyrite and butyl xanthate flotation pulp system, the movement of selective complexation with arsenicpyrite by inhibitor y-As not only prevents infroming paris xanthate,but also arrsts the reaction between butyl xanthate anion and metal xanthate.As a result,the two characteristic absorption peaks are disappeared,so the arsenopyrite is completely inhibited.
