Alkylahydroxiamic acid(AF-12) was synthesized by cis-butenedioic anhydride, hydroxylamine hydrochloride and aliphatic amine. Alkylarylhydroxiamic acid(BF-4) was synthesized by hydroxylamine hydrochloride and alkylarylmethylformate. The flotation behaviors of diaspore and the main gangue mineral kaolinite, pyrophyllite and illite were studied with series of alkylahydroxiamic acid collectors and alkylarylhydroxiamic acid collector. The pure mineral flotation experiments show that alkylahydroxiamic acid collectors exhibit strong flotation capability on diapore, kaolinite, pyrophyllite and illite while the pH value of the system maintainted at 8.Using alkylahydroxiamic acid as collectors,with the concentration of 4×10-4mol/L,the flotation recoveries of the diaspore, kaolinite, pyrophyllite and illite are respectively up to 95%,75%,50%,50%.Alkylarylhydroxiamic as collector, with pH=7.5 and the concentration of 77.2mg/L, the flotation recoveries of the pyrophyllite, kaolinite are up to 93%,50%, whereas, that of kaolinite and illite are only 5%.In a word, with alkylahydroxiamic acid as collectors, diaspore could not be separated from kaolinite, illte and pyrophyllite through direct flotation, while with alkylarylhydroxiamic acid as collector; diaspore could be effectively separated from kaolinite, illte and pyrophyllite through direct flotation.The separation of mixed mineral of diaspore and kaolinite by direct flotation was studied preliminarily in this dissertation. The results show that the artificial mixed mineral of diaspore and kaolinite can be separated well when A/S of feeding mineral is 6.72 (diaspore: kaolinite=2:1)and the concentrate of A/S=29.83 can be obtained when 77.2 mg/L of alkylarylhydroxiamic acid is employed as direct flotation collector, while the pH value of the system maintained at 7.5.In short, alkylarylhydroxiamic acid as collectors, diaspore could be effectively separated from kaolinite, illte and pyrophyllite through direct flotation.The adsorption mechanism of the new collectors on the four minerals has been investigated through Zeta-potential and IR spectrum measurements.Zeta-potential and IR spectrum measurements confirm that the interaction between Alkylahydroxiamic acid and aluminum silicate minerals may be the chemical action and small hydrogen bond action, but the interaction between alkylarylhydroxiamic acid and aluminum silicate minerals may be only chemical action.
