Road condition occupies a pivotal position in road traffic. The quality of road linear design has very important effect on road safety. Therefore, without considering other factors of road traffic, it is particularly important to study the single factor of the road linear. This article summed up and learning from a lot of literatures of home and abroad about the road linear and road safety information, then proposed a research method that make grade of road linear complexity for researching. At first, analyze some experimental theories of the relationship between road linear and traffic safety and driver information processing, the driver's attention; then on the basic of analyze flat vertical alignment of road, design a experiment of single factor for 11 kinds road linear, and establish a three-dimensional simulation scenarios, and optimize the experimental design and experimental scene by the simulator.By randomly select 12 drivers'driving simulation experiment, completed the experimental data acquisition, processing and model transformation, and analyzed the relationships of driver attention demands, running speed and the lateral trajectory deviation of vehicles by SPSS16.0 software, and proposed a method that amendments driver attention demand by standard deviation of lateral trajectory (namely when the driver are driving, the stability of the vehicle track reflects the bad or good degree of driving task). Finally, according to the AD value of driver attention demands of linear section of each experiment to establish a road classification model of linear complexity.
