Square wave motor has been received close attention by experts in fields concerned with its high Power Density, high efficiency rate, high reliability and other many merits. It is currently mainly used in large power fields as it can provide higher torque and power at the condition of the same volume. A reliable inverter is needed in order to facilitate the operation of the square wave motor. Furthermore, the need for high-power inverter has been increased rapidly with the electric power field has been steadily broadened and the ever increasing scale of the application equipment, while, the design of the high-power inverter has been a very difficult problem to solve. It plays a positive role in promoting the social development to apply the existing advanced technology to meet various kinds of needs of the high-power inverter.As the requirements of the research and the practical usage, and under the guide of Dr. Wang, this paper has designed a mixed switch inverter system of the square wave motor based on the thyristor which has applied the TMS320F2407 of the TI Company as the collar machine controller and the power electronic technology. The structure and the contents of this paper have been summarized as follows:The first chapter has briefly introduced the present situation of the high-power inverter. The practical significance of the research has been illustrated by presenting the background of the research. And the characteristics and the merits and demerits of the frequently used power electronic devices as the high-power switch element application have been compared. This paper then puts forward the main working schemes by comparisons.The second chapter describes the topological structure of the traditional high-power inverter, and then it simply analyzes the operation principle, and finally judges whether it is suitable to adapt the traditional high-power inverter as the inverter structure of the square wave motor.The third chapter presents the topological structure of the mixed switch inverter of the square wave motor and its detail operation process, and meanwhile the relevant technology of the inverter has been summarized. Finally, the size of components has been estimated, and the type has been primarily decided according to the design.On the basis of the theory analysis in the third chapter, the fourth chapter has testified the feasibility of the mixed switch inverter topology of the square wave motor through the analysis of simulation and experiment.The last chapter concludes the main research work and the future study trends have been discussed as well.
