Electrified railways is playing more and more important role in the rapid growing national economy, and the AT power supply has become the main direction of high-speed,subhigh-speed and heavy haul construction in future.Study about fault location in AT traction power supply network has become hot off the Press of relevant departments and scholars, which means it has important practical significance and value.This paper first introduced the traction power supply system, include common options,lines structure, common faults.Then used Hilbert-Huang (HHT) transform and S-transform for processing simulation data and the building process of intelligent location model are given respectively. At last get the comparison of two methods.This paper mainly includes the following:(1)Briefed the Permanent configuration in traction power supply system (include substation, traction, District Pavilion, Switching, locomotives, etc.), traction power supply network, illustratd the Carson-based network impedance calculation formula of the traction network and decoupling method, analyzed the harmonic in the traction power supply system and the calculation of its contents;(2)Introduced the traveling wave transmission theory, catadioptric law, characteristics of fault generated traveling waves and problems in fault location;the basic thought of HHT, exact position of the tip,S transform and S transform the energy law also be mentioned;(3)AT Traction power supply system simulation model by using ATP-EMTP was synthetically considered the AT power supply substation ground capacitance, AT leakage reactance, leakage resistance and other factors,and built main transformer of traction substation.Using the model simulated the common faults in AT Power Traction, such as TR (contact wire-track), TF (contact line-are feeder), FR (Positive Feeder-track) and disconnection (including T, F power supply side to ground, non-power unfilled vacancies and superimposition of two cases).Using the simulated results after transformed by HHT and S-transform showed the validity of the model and the shortcomings of simulation.(4)Use reactive power energy based on HHT for choosing the fault line and are given building process of intelligence location model based on the HHT and the S transform energy respectively, and get the comparison of two methods.(5)Using the amount of electrical substation equipment to complete single-ended collection of traveling wave fault location method and accuracy are quite satisfactory, based on HHT and S changes in the energy law had to look forward to intelligent ranging applications.The methods used in this paper reflects their own desirability with varying degrees and had considerable accuracy, which had some reference value in the field of fault location.
