Intercooler as the cooling device before Turbo air into the cylinder, is an indispensable part of pressurization diesel engine on the normal operation. Direct impact on the structure volume of air into the cylinder, the gas velocity distribution and turbulent conditions, etc. These factors are directly related to the diesel engine's combustion process, thus affecting the economy of diesel locomotives, power and emission. Three-dimensional simulation software using diesel locomotives Intercooler three-dimensional numerical simulation, by analyzing the internal flow field, may find the improved method for optimizing the performance of diesel engine provides a new way.In this paper, Based on the simulation calculation with inter-cooled device performance test method combining, Firstly, the three-dimensional modeling software UG is conducted to inter-cooled gas side entity modeling, and then use inter-cooled performance test data to provide boundary conditions on the computer simulation, Fluent software as a platform.Use of appropriate turbulence models and calculation methods on the gas side of the three-dimensional numerical simulation of the flow field, obtained the detailed information under different mass flow of air flow. Performance evaluation parameters inter-cooled (heat transfer coefficient and heat capacity) of the calculated results agree well with the steady flow test-bed results. numerical simulations validated method for evaluating the feasibility of performance inter-cooled. through the flow field analysis, a structural improvement measures inter-cooled is taken, and the numerical simulation again. The results show that the improved structure of cooling pipe spacing at the same air quality flow rate, heat dissipation has been markedly improved, air-cooled condition has been well improved.This article on analyze the results flow directly applied to guide the improvement of the structure inter-cooled, to quick, good results in reducing development costs, in line with the rapid development of railway transport situation, of great practical significance.
