Taking the Binshan Concrete Arch Bridge situated in Xiangxi as the research object, this paper analyses the merits and demerits of the analytical method and the method of finite element numerical simulation of arch bridge dynamics on the basis of collecting the relevant documents on arch bridge and dynamics. With the engineering concrete example of Binshan Concrete Arch Bridge, space finite element model of the whole bridge is established by adopting large software ANSYS and MIDAS. Through analysis of its free vibration property, the plan of static load test is made according to the standard of Grade 2 highways in China. Static and Moving Load Experiments are also conducted to the bridge. Combined with engineering cases, the analysis of the paper are in accordance with the theoretical result of Binshan Concrete Arch Bridge. The paper explores how to establish reasonable numeration model, how to select proper structure parameter, how to use the FEM software ANSYS and MIDAS for analysis of free vibration properties, etc. Analysis and discussions are also made on influences of differences in model simplification, the structure of force transfer to free vibration properties, the cause of the different result of two soft wares modeling. The research work of the paper includes the following aspects:1. Through adopting MIDAS/Civil finite element modeling, static analysis was made on the Binshan Concrete Arch Bridge. It has determined loading vehicles, layout of wheelorder and load efficiency according to static load case.2. Through using the two MIDAS/CIVIL and ANSYS software modeling, analysis was made on free vibration properties of the mentioned bridge.3. Static and Moving Load Experiments were conducted and analysis was made on the result of the test.4. Analysis and discussions are also made on some profound problems occurred in the research.
