HXD2 locomotive is one of the principal heavy haul freight trains in the Datong-Qinhuangdao transport line. HXD2 locomotive adopts France ALSTOM's Faiveley braking system. It is significant to make sure that the baking system works normally for the safe operation of locomotive. Therefore, it is necessary to develop the fault diagnosis system for Faiveley braking system.Regarding the Faiveley braking system of HXD2 locomotive as object of study, the thesis analyses the main functions characteristics and the relationship of the structure, working processes and important module, researches into the failure characteristics of the pneumatic system and electrical system, lays the foundation for the design of fault diagnosis system.In the light of the complexity of system and energy coupling between power system and air pressure system, the thesis takes advantages of power bond graph in modeling the energy coupling system to model the system. Based on bond graph, physical meaning for correlated variables and the modeling rules are defined. According to fault characteristics, the system is decomposed in modules by multi-level decomposing mechanism. The whole system and each independent sub-module are modeled expounding in detail. Therefore the characteristics of modules and the inner module are certain.In the light of the varieties of working conditions, the uncertainty of faults, the low efficiency of diagnosing faults, analytical redundancy relations is adopted to detect and isolate faults for baking system. Through adding observers to mathematical models, ARR equations are derived, so fault signature matrix and fault candidates sets and isolable fault sets are obtained. According to the limitation of isolable fault sets, the thesis proposes an improved ARR algorithm. Through introducing independent ARR equations, the information of inconsistent-certain and consistent-uncertain ARR equations is collected. The combined regulations are defined to simplify fault candidates sets and expand isolable fault sets realizing to diagnose fault components timely and accurately. The proposed algorithm based on ARR, is qualitatively simulated by practical circuit and proved to be effective.Based on the overall structure of the system, the thesis introduces system's hardware platform and software architecture. The proposed detection system based on analytical redundancy relations has already been tested in the Faiveley braking system of HXD2 Locomotive of Taiyuan Railway Administration Taiyuan North locomotive depot, and gained much praise by users. Practical application proves that the system in the protection of the safe operation of braking system is entirely feasible and effective.
