slope retaining is a important problem which is usually involved in the traffic,the municipal construction,the mine and the water conservancy. many kinds of measure have been used for the slope retaining,such as retaining wall,pile,anchor bar and prestressed anchor. Nowdays, a new compound structure of lattice beam and prestressed cable is widely used for preventing and reinforcing slope or land slide.It uses the cables to strengthen in deep of slope or landslide, and the lattice beam to retaine surface.So,this technique takes account to both deep strengthening and surface retaining, and it could make sure the slope or landslide steady.Moreover,some flowers or grasses could plant in the latticework,and they would hold the soil and beautify the entironment.So the compound retaining system is worth popularizing in coming days becase of its effective,safety and well benefit.However,the study of the system is limited.So the the design method mostly based on the engineering experience at present,and there is no code for designing.Therefore,the study of the system and its design method are very necessary and emergent,the research work could help designers achieve more economical and reasonable design, and develop the new pattern retaining technique of slope.In this paper,the force of the system is studied through theoretical analysis ,numerical simulation and engineering example .the numerical simulation analysis include three methods which respectively based on three condition,the first is different prestress of cables,and the second is different angle of cables,and the last is different space of cables.And then the engineering example is simulated by FLAC3D,and the results is compared with the real datum.All above,the following conclusions can be obtained:1. the displacement of slope or landslide and force of lattice beam are effected observably by the cables' prestress,angle,space and more other factors. Moreover,the force of lattice beam may be distinct due to different position.2. The Beijing Normal University,Zhuhai Landslide,which is simulated by FLAC3D programme.The results indicate the force of lattice beam is variational during different phases,so the design method presently should improved.
