RC frame structure with masonry filler wall is a very common structural system used in the building structures.Existing research indicates that the filler walls have great effect on the stiffness ,bearing capacity and dissipative capacity of RC frames. So it is necessary to take the effect of the filler walls on the frames into structural design when doing the seismic design of the frames. This paper research work in this thesis issummarized as follows:1)According to the test of three models of two-storey, one-bay RC frame structure with masonry filler wall , one models of two-storey, one-bay RC frame structure and one model of one-storey, one-bay RC frame structure with masonry filler wall under low-cyclic reversed load. The collapse state, hysteretic characteristics, dissipative capacity, rigidity degeneration, displacement ductility are comparing. The results show that, the stiffness , bearing and dissipative capacity of RC frame structure with masonry filler wall is much higher than frame without infill. The infilled wall could serve as first line of defense in the earthquake. But overall structure of the rapid degradation of stiffness and dissipative capacity, the structures mechanics performance approaching RC frame without filler wall in the late stage.2)Non-linear finite element analysis model is established by using ABAQUS software, reinforced concrete frame and masonry filler panels are simulated by solid element C3D8R , reinforcement is simulated by truss element T3D2, the connection of reinforced concrete frame and masonry infill panels is simulated by spring element SPRINGA. Behavior of test modle by using nonlinear finite element analysis given in this paper. Besides the analytical results were compared with the experimental results, and the feasibility of the finite element model is demonstrated . And further the earthquake resistance of three storey, one-bay RC frame structure with masonry filler wall is studied.3) Based on experimental research and finite element analysis, formula of bearing capacity and stiffness of masonry-infilled RC frames is derived .
