Piezoelectric ceramics with large power density have been used as transducer in the piezoelectric micro-motors, which can get higher efficiency and output torque. Therefore, new types of piezoelectric micro-motors have been the focus of research field. It can be applied in the fields of precision instrument; bioengineering and other micro actuator systems.A type of disk–pivot piezoelectric micro-motors has been studied and tested in this article. The author made an optimizing analysis of the transducer by FEM. The effect of modes coupling and the frequency separation from one vibration mode were studied. The separation methods of the coupling modes were given.In order to fulfill the required parameters of the motor operation, another type of disk–pivot motor has been designed and fabricated. By offering a more symmetrical structure and employing double rotor driving, the new motor can achieve a better performance. According to the experimental results, the output torque of the new disk–pivot motor is four time larger than the former one.Based on the contrary piezoelectric effect of the piezoelectric ceramic, a new type of linear piezoelectric actuator has been designed and tested. The motor stator also has a structure of disk–pivot. Two ceramic discs are stuck to the out surface of the two disks of the stator. The step vibration can be excitated by the warping vibration of the ceramics. The motor has good prospects for the practical use.A type of ultrasonic source has been fabricated. It can provide the driving voltage for the motor. The source also had the switch to control the positive and reverse working modes.
