Energy resources and environment protection are two important concerning the exiting and development of DI engine. For improving combustion progress of the Dl engine, through the studying and analyzing of the comparatively combustion characteristics, a new nozzle-I-IL nozzle and a new combustion chan3ber are put forward to improve the function of DI engine. The main points are as follows: I. The effect of comparatively combustion characteristics was described and the development of the DI engine was outlined. 2. A new data collecting system was developed. The calculating software of comparatively combustion characteristics was worked out 3. Through the comparing and analyzing the data of the perforxna.nce experiments , a better curve of comparatively combustion characteristics were put forward, it would serve to improve the function of DI engine. 4 The 1-IL nozzle and new combustion chamber were designed , through the HL ~ozzle experiment of fuel injection process, it could testify the fuel injection process of I-IL nozzle better. 5.
