Based on the program of MARC, the paper use FEM of plane strain to research the performance of composite foundation under flexible uniform load and embarkment load .The research work select the elastic plastic constitutive model ,which is based on the Mohr-Coulomb yield criterion, analysis the effect of the parameters of the constitutive model on the performance of composite foundation. In the use of MARC , the simulation of the relative slide bewteen the pile and soil is realized by the definition of contact body , and the author also employ the method of stepping loading to make the simulation more close to the engineering practice. In addition, this paper analysis a engineering example which refer to the treatment of soft foundation at east part of Hainai express way. The rusults of the calculation and the field observation are in good agreement, which shows that the analysis model is good.
