In the past decades, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) has been developed rapidly. It possesses many specialities that manned airplanes do not have, for instance, high ratio of performance vs. cost, no need of risking man's life, so that UAV is being paid more and more attention to by aero-engineers across the world. However, most UAVs are not satisfying in terms of withdraw, which limits their applications under many circumstances. Precise withdraw with light overload is the trend of future UAVs. In this thesis, various kinds of withdraw of UAVs are discussed, with the result of a Vertical Take-off and Landing (VIOL) UAV project being brought forward. And the conceptual design of VIOL, including type selection, overall layout and decision of major parameters are also discussed in depth. Eventually, primary layout parameters and three-view of layout of the designed VIOL UAV are given, and various performances are estimated too. The results are satisfactory. |
