In china, the research for the technology of integrated automation is earlier than that of feeder automation. So products of integrated automation are maturer. In this paper, the main topic is intelligent outdoor reclose controller. Using distributed architecture, This controller integrates functions of protection, metering, signaling, communication and new kind of distribution automation. It combines the function for integrated automation and feeder automation. So this product can be used not only in the reforming of substation, realizing the protection of equipments and power lines, but also in ring power network, through repetitious reclose, eliminating instantaneous faults and isolating permanent faults. This paper introduces Control Area Network(CAN) into intelligent reclose controller, so it is very easy to construct multi-master system and multi-machine backup system. In feeder automation, after the intelligent reclose controller isolate faults, controller use the CAN to report fault message to dispatch center, helping determining the reason and fault point.This paper put forward a project to combine monitoring system in substation and telemetry system. In this project, there will be not special RTU, the monitor computer replace the RTU. Using software to realize telemetry conventions, the flexibility will greatly increase. This project can be used for the construction of new substation, and it is also a economical way for reforming of existing substation. The monitoring system can monitor not only equipment in substation but also reclosers in the feeder line. This project combines the functions of integrated automation and feeder automation. This system has been running safely for 7 month, and achieved desired result.
