The Brushless Doubly-Fed Machine (BDFM), with simple structure and favorable reliability, has gained renewed attention in adjustable-speed drive and variable-speed constant-frequency generator applications in recent years for it features adjustable power factor and high efficiency.In this paper, a comprehensive research on the BDFM with cage rotor is developed, including the BDFM's operational principal, design theory and control strategies. Finally the intelligent control in the BDFM is discussed. The following items are include:1. To introduce the research history and developing future of BDFM, timing systems and bring forward the purpose of the BDFM as well as the contents of this paper.2. The prototype of BDFM and its development are investigated. The basic structure and operating principal is deeply study. Then the BDFM state equations are given, and the power equation and torque equation are deducted. Based on these equations, the characteristics are probed into.3. To study in detail the principal of BDFM design feathers, to found the doctrine of BDFM design principal. Work out the electromagnetic designing program of BDFM, using the program the BDFM prototype is maken out and the experient is carried out.4. By derivating the BDFM's mathematic model, the circuit network model, rotor speed model and synchronous speed model are bring forth. A Simulation BDFM model-using Matlab/Simulink is built based on the rotor speed model. With the model, steady state and dynamic state study are made.5. Having analysised some conventional control strategies, the intelligent control Strategy is studied. The fuzzy control strategy model and fuzzy controller are deduced and built, and the simulation study and analysis are made subsequently.
